Welcome to the SchoolCEO Podcast. I’m your host, Eileen Beard. The SchoolCEO conference is just one week away now. We’ve got a great lineup of speakers this year, including this guy right here. William D. Parker, host of the popular Principal Matters podcast. In this encore episode from Season 2 of the show, he talks to host Tyler Vawser about how superintendents and principals can work better together, and how together they can play offense to help everyone in their schools win by celebrating the successes within their organizations. They play a really unique role, probably the only role in the organization with a direct line to parents and staff as well as the superintendent. Which means they are fundamental to helping bridge that distance. And they set the tone for their buildings. If a principal creates a warm and supportive working environment, if they celebrate successes of staff and students, and if they stress the importance of school communications in sharing those successes with their community, they can strengthen trust and build their school brand, which in turn builds the district brand.
Those of you who are attending the SchoolCEO Conference next week will get to see him speak in person, but until then, here’s our conversation with William D. Parker. Enjoy!
