Our AI Philosophy

SchoolCEO believes that effective communication cannot happen without connection. As a result, we strive to use AI only in instances in which its use enhances our ability to communicate or else gives us mental space and time to pursue our work more effectively. Each article you read in SchoolCEO magazine is crafted by humans, artistically designed by humans, and tailored with humans (like you) in mind.

The SchoolCEO team currently uses AI for the purposes of research, ideation, creating a better online experience, and identifying small errors. SchoolCEO’s articles are not written, illustrated or designed by AI, and we do not use AI in any capacity without scrutiny and a human in charge. We believe that human touch has a critical role in the efficacy of communication and make all decisions with this belief in mind.

Below is a list of the most common ways in which we use AI. As of January 2026, these guidelines are shared with any and all contributors.

We use AI to organize and analyze data.

To manage the vast amount of information involved in our research and article writing, we utilize tools like NotebookLM to synthesize large datasets, navigate long interview transcripts, and identify trends across broad topics. While AI helps us categorize and parse this information, the interpretation of that data—and the conclusions drawn from it—remains strictly a human endeavor.

We use AI as a partner in ideation.

Great stories require great framing. We occasionally use generative AI as a "digital sounding board" to help us brainstorm article titles, summarize complex concepts for social media, or generate SEO-friendly metadata. While AI provides options and starting points, final headlines and summaries are always selected and refined by our editors to ensure they capture the nuance of the piece.

We use AI to create a better online experience for our readers.

We want SchoolCEO to be accessible to everyone, regardless of how they prefer to consume content. We use AI tools to generate accurate transcripts for our multimedia content, assist in translations for broader reach, and occasionally create audio versions of our written articles. This allows our audience to listen to our insights on the go while maintaining the integrity of the original written work.

We use AI for quality control and proofing.

To ensure our content is polished and professional, we utilize AI-powered writing assistants to screen for minor errors, such as typos, factual errors, grammatical inconsistencies, or syntax issues. We view these tools as a "second set of eyes" that supports—but does not replace—our rigorous human editorial process.
